Whiskey & Words

There isn’t much that can bring a group of men together like a bottle of whiskey. Whiskey and Words started after a group of guys from church (yes, church) had been looking for a way to get together every few months. The only thing visitors are asked to bring is a book, piece of music, poetry, or anything else that has sparked their interest. As we kept hosting these events we wanted to create a brand and online community around it to keep people connected when we weren’t meeting.

Each time we’d meet with a new lineup of whiskies we would read through the story that made each one unique. A lot of distilleries have a hard time pulling an engaging narrative together in a way that differentiates them from the rest. We pitched this idea of a Distiller Series to one of my favorite brands, Koval Distillery in Chicago, that would highlight the intricacies of their process and made them stand out in a crowded market. We launched it in partnership with Koval and saw an increase of 273% in visitors to our site.
